Memory upgrade
You call and tell us your PC is performing too slowly. We visit your address and explain that a memory upgrade is the best solution for you.
Computer memory is the "working area" from which your system stores and accesses the data which your computer is currently working on. Usually known as RAM, it is sold on sticks which slot into your computer. RAM is sold in different sizes and speeds, and purchasing the right one for your computer is very important.
We would recommend a minimum of 2GB of RAM in a computer, though if your system is newer, 4GB should be your target, especially if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7. Increasing the memory is often one of the simplest and cheapest ways to extend the life of your current PC - the parts themselves cost between £20 and £50 - dependent on how much you need, and the type of memory required.
If we suggest this to you, we will first check what your PC is capable of. If that complements the memory that is already in your computer, then your existing memory can be added to. If not, the old memory may have to be completely replaced.
A memory upgrade will usually be two separate visits - the first to diagnose the problem and the second to install it. Alternatively, you could bring your computer to us for the work - and at the same time we can perform a number of system maintenance routines for an additional £30. which will further enhance your computer.
