Slow computer performance
This is one of the most common problems we deal with. Diagnosing it usually takes minutes, but the fix can vary depending on how much work is required. As such, we would always recommend you bring your computer to us in order to benefit from our cheaper off-site rates.
The cause of this problem is usually either too much is being asked of your computer, or it is need of an upgrade. Sometimes both are to blame.
In a lot of cases, your computer slows down because of things outside your control. Too many programs running, many of which you may not have installed, or intended to install, will cause serious performance problems. Other possibilities are that you have viruses, spyware or other malware running on the computer. There is only a limited amount of things your computer can do simultaneously, and beyond that point system performance degrades significantly.
You may also have used all the storage space on your computer, which also affects performance.
The cause of the problem is usually apparent within minutes. The most common solutions are to either proceed to a memory upgrade, or ease the burden on the computer by removing unwanted, unnecessary and undesirable software. This can be enough to revive even a computer of considerable age.
The key variable is exactly what you need your computer to do. If your demands are too much for the PC, then perhaps you would be better considering a new PC. But if not, or that's out your budget, the memory upgrade, or performance tune-up, can still make a significant improvement.
The key in this situation is that we will always offer you as many options as possible in order to let you decide what is the most appropriate for you.
